How to setup IP-FAX initial settings and register a destination

How do I register a destination and IP-FAX initial settings?
To register a destination and IP-Fax initial settings, follow these steps:
Required fields: Check the following items.
- IP address of the device
- Sub-net mask of the device
- Gateway address of the device
- Choose the protocol used for IP-Fax transmission
Set the following according to your environment.
When using gatekeeper
- Gatekeeper set up
- IP address of Gatekeeper
- Alias phone number
When using SIP server
- SIP server set up
- IP address of SIP server (Proxy server, Redirect server, Authentication server)
- SIP user name
- SIP digest authentication
On the operation panel of the device, press the [User Tools/Counter] key.

Press [System Settings].

On the [Interface Settings] tab, press [Machine IPv4 Address].

Press [Change], and then use the numeric keypad to enter the [IP address] and [Subnet mask]. After you have entered this information, press [OK].

Press [IPv4 Gateway Address].

Use the number keys to enter the reception interval, and then press [#] or [OK].

Press [Exit] to close [System Settings].

Press [Facsimile Features].

Click on the [Initial Settings] tab, and choose the IP-Fax transmission protocol from [Enable H.323] or [Enable SIP].
Note:
It is necessary to select [On] in [Enable H.323] or [Enable SIP], or to enable both protocols. (Note: Screenshots are provided for reference purposes only. Your display may vary depending on your device.)
Press [On], and then press [OK].
Note:
- You can use IP-Fax if you have set up an internet phone.
For details, see "Using IP-Fax if you have set up an internet phone".
On the operation panel of the device, press the [User Tools/Counter] key.

Press [System Settings].

On the [Administrator Tools] tab, press [Address Book Management].

Press [New Program].

Press [Change] on the [Names] tab, and enter the [Name].
Note:
- If you enter anything here, the name will automatically be registered on the multi-function device.
- It is convenient to select the capital letters in the [Select Title] area if you have many entries.

Open the [Fax Dest.] tab, and then press [Select Line].

In the [Select line] window, choose the registered protocol for your Fax (IP-Fax) transmissions. We will use "H.323" as an example here.

Return to the [Fax dest.] tab, click [Change] and enter the IP address of your destination. After you have entered this information, press [OK].

Note:
- If you are using Gatekeeper, or SIP server, enter the alias phone number or the SIP user name instead of the IP address.
Click [Exit].

Open a web browser.
Enter "http://(IPv4 address of this device/" in the address box.

When Web Image Monitor is displayed, click [Login].

Enter the user name and password, and then click [Login].
Note:
- For your user name and password, please contact your administrator.
- When registering the device host name on a DNS server, enter the host name instead of the IP address.
- To set up SSL (Secure Socket Layer) server authentication, enter [https://(device address)/].

Click [Address Book].

Click [Add user].

Enter the [Name] and [Key Display].
Note:
- It is convenient to select the capital letters in the [Select Title] area if you have many entries.

Enter the IP address in the [Fax Destination] box, and then select your protocol from [Select line].
Note:
- If you are using Gatekeeper, or SIP server, enter the alias phone number or the SIP user name instead of the IP address.

Click [OK] to finish the registration.

Confirm the information is displayed in the address book.

To use IP-Fax if you have set up an internet phone, follow these steps:
Open a web browser.
Enter "http://(IPv4 address of this device/" in the address box.

When Web Image Monitor is displayed, click [Login].

Enter the user name and password, and then click [Login].
Note:
- For your user name and password, please contact your administrator.
- When registering the device host name on a DNS server, enter the host name instead of the IP address.
- To use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) server authentication, enter [https://(IP address of device)/].

Click [Configuration].

Click [IP-Fax Settings].

The following set up will be different if you are using Gatekeeper and a SIP server.
Choose [On] next to [Enable IP-Fax Gatekeeper], and enter the [Gatekeeper Address (Main)], [Gatekeeper Address (Sub)] and [Own Fax No.].

Click [OK] to finish the IP-Fax set up.

Choose [On] next to [Enable Server], and then enter the [User Name] and in the [Server IP Address] boxes. If you choose [On] next to [Digest Authentication] and press [Change], you can enter a password.

Click [OK] to finish the IP-Fax set up.
